Immunotherapy for Ebola Virus Disease

2019 - Chimera, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, and Illustrator

This spread was created as part of an assignment for BMC course on molecular visualizations. The goal here was to explain the structure of the viral glycoprotein and its interactions with the newly identified antibody ADI-15946. In order to contextualize this information for a lay audience, additional information was provided on how the disease works as well as the areas that are most affected. Some of my progress work for this project can be seen below.

After completing a series of thumbnails, this was the general layout I settled on. This layout felt like it had the best flow, and I liked how much room was dedicated to the molecular structures that were supposed to be the focus of the piece.

Comprehensive sketch draft: This is a fleshed out version of my initial thumbnail. It underwent a series of changes including the addition of information on past EVD outbreak to help provide context for the research that was the focus of the spread.

Final comprehensive sketch: This is the final preliminary sketch I completed. At this point the layout is almost completely finalized. I also reworked the layout of the data visualization and added a couple more images that help further explain the molecular structures.
